INTRODUCTION

Everyone's definition of happiness is different. Perhaps it's being content with who you are in your own right. Having a group of friends that accept you for who you are is another option. Alternatively, the ability to act on your greatest aspirations.

Regardless of your notion of ultimate happiness, you can live a happier, more fulfilling life. You can get there by making a few changes to your regular routine. Habits are crucial. You know how difficult it is to break a bad habit if you've ever tried. Good habits are deeply established as well. Why not incorporate good habits into your daily routine?

To get you started on your journey, here are some daily, monthly, and yearly behaviors to consider.

1)Consume nutritious foods.

We all know that eating nutritious foods is important for our health, but most people think of healthy eating as primarily a weight-loss strategy. According to the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, lean protein, low-fat dairy, and whole grains is what you need for optimum energy. After all, you are, to some extent, what you consume. Eat a variety of foods from all dietary groups to get a variety of nutrients to keep you energized throughout the day. From fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, choose nutrient-dense dark leafy greens and broccoli, as well as orange vegetables like carrots and sweet potatoes. Fish and legumes come in a range of shapes and sizes.

2)Smile

When you're happy, you tend to smile. However, it is a two-way street. We smile because we're happy, and smiling triggers the release of dopamine in the brain, which makes us feel better.

That doesn't mean you have to fake a smile all of the time. When you're feeling low, however, try smiling and see what occurs. Alternatively, try smiling at yourself in the mirror first thing in the morning.

3)A good night's sleep is seven to eight hours

More sleep appears to be a healthy habit that many individuals could benefit from. What's keeping us from obtaining at least seven hours of sleep every night? Consider how you can reduce your biggest sleep disruptors and keep the following in mind: Sleep deprivation can aggravate existing health issues and have a bad influence on your mood, motivation, and energy levels. Prioritizing sleep is one of the most effective ways to ensure a successful and energized day.

4)Exercise

It's not just excellent for your health. Regular exercise can help with stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, as well as self-esteem and enjoyment.

Even a small amount of physical activity can make a big difference. You don't have to train for a triathlon or scale a cliff to be happy unless that's your thing.

The goal is to avoid overworking yourself. If you start doing something strenuous right away, you'll probably get frustrated (and sore).

Consider the following exercise ideas:

  • Every night after dinner, go for a walk around the block.
  • Enroll in a yoga or tai chi class for beginners.
  • Stretch for 5 minutes to start your day. Here are some stretches to get you started.
  • Recall any enjoyable activities you used to like but have since given up. Or activities you've always wanted to do, such as golf, bowling, or dance.

5)Make sure you're in the company of nice people

Spend as much time as you can with people who make you happy. Connecting with others who radiate optimism and share similar interests will thrill and energize you. People you don't get along with, who have a negative attitude, moan a lot, or make poor decisions, on the other side, will drain your energy. Choose your associates carefully.

6)Be thankful

Simply being grateful can lift your spirits and give additional benefits. For example, a recent two-part study found that practicing thankfulness can considerably boost feelings of hope and joy.

Begin each day by thanking God for anything. You can do this while brushing your teeth or waiting for your snoozed alarm to go off.

As you go about your day, keep an eye out for positive things in your life. They can be life-changing experiences, such as learning that someone cares about you or gaining a well-deserved promotion.

It could be as basic as a coworker offering you a cup of coffee or a friendly wave from a neighbor. Maybe it's just the way the sun feels on your skin.

7)Every day, do something worthwhile

What is it about which you are especially passionate? Do you have a special talent that you'd want to hone or share with others? Do something you enjoy every day, even if it's only cooking a healthy dinner or listening to music you like. Putting effort into the things that are most important to you will allow you to use and reserve your energy in ways that will assist you in achieving your objectives.

8)Pay someone a compliment

Acts of kindness, according to research, can make you feel happy

Giving a genuine compliment is a simple and effective way to brighten someone's day while simultaneously increasing your own happiness.

They'll know you're serious if you capture their eye and say it with a smile. It's conceivable you'll be surprised by how wonderful it makes you feel.

If you want to compliment someone on their appearance, make sure you do so politely.

9)Prioritize and plan

Throughout the day, keep track of when your energy levels are at their peak. While you're feeling enthusiastic and productive, decide how you'll make the most of those changes by prioritizing critical actions.

10)Keep a diary

A notebook is a great way to keep track of your thoughts, analyze your feelings, and make plans. To gain the rewards, you don't have to be a literary genius or a prolific writer.

It may be as simple as sketching down a few ideas before going to bed. If writing things down makes you feel uneasy, you can always shred them when you're finished. It's the approach that counts.

11)Look for the positive aspects of things.

It's easy to see the defects and disadvantages. Focus on the good parts of your position instead. Look for the bright parts of life or silver linings. The finest books on happiness recommend cultivating positive thoughts: the more you look for the good in life, the less stress and negative thinking you'll experience.
